A Georgetown retiree is $100,000 richer after winning the Instant Power Up jackpot.

Edward Kouyoumjian, 66, of Halton Hills said he’s been playing the lottery for more than 20 years and this is his largest win yet.

The father of two was at the park when he played his ticket and uncovered his win.

“As soon as I realized I was a big winner, my hands began to shake and I felt like I was going to faint,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall.

“I was in a daze and didn’t know how to act, it felt like I was frozen in time!”

Kouyoumjian said everyone in his family was happy for him when he shared the news, but he did have one doubter.

“My wife didn’t believe me until I got home and showed her the ticket.”

With his winnings, Kouyoumjian plans to pay some bills and invest.

“Maybe I’ll take a little vacation with my wife too,” he said. “It’s an amazing feeling and I am so grateful.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Preston’s Food Mart on Confederation Street in Glen Williams.
