A new place to grab a slice or a pie has opened its doors in Oakville.

Pizza Nova, a family-owned and operated chain, has opened its latest of more than 150 locations in Ontario at 2481 Taunton Rd, near Trafalgar Road and Dundas Street.

Founded in 1963, Pizza Nova is also known for their panzerotti, lasagna, sandwiches and wings.

The fourth location in Oakville is owned and operated by Adjmal (AJ) Nusrat, his second franchise, who has been working for Pizza Nova for 22 years.

“I first joined the Pizza Nova family as a teenager,” said Nusrat in a press release.

“The company’s commitment to family, quality and integrity resonated with me, eventually leading me to become a franchisee. I truly fell in love with their food, the world of pizza and entrepreneurship.

“As an employee, and since 2012 as a franchisee, I’ve only grown in confidence and affection for the brand and our team. I’m happy to deliver our quality food choices to new customers in the Oakville area.”

The grand opening, along with a fundraiser and appearance by Mayor Rob Burton, is Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a ribbon cutting, balloon artist, face painting and medium pizzas available for the price of $5.99 with $1 from every pizza sold during that time going to Fare Share Food Bank Oakville.
