Guns seized and two arrests made following a drug investigation in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service seized two handguns and arrested two individuals earlier this week, in connection to a lengthy drug investigation.
On Monday (Apr. 24) police stopped and arrested Julian Welsh in his vehicle in Mississauga.
Officers say a search warrant was then completed on his vehicle as well as two residences and a storage locker associated with the accused.
The following items were found and seized by the HRPS:
- Two restricted handguns (both with tampered serial numbers)
- Four (4) handgun magazines
- 99 rounds of ammunition
- Brass knuckles
- Approximately 7.7 ounces of cocaine
- Drug trafficking indicia (drug packaging, digital scale, cutting agents)
- Nearly $10, 000 in CAN currency
Police have charged 31-year-old Julian Welsh of Mississauga with several firearm offences including:
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Two counts of tampering with a firearms serial number
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon (brass knuckles)
Julian Welsh was also charged with several drug related offences including:
- Two counts of trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
As a result of the investigation, police say 31-year-old Natasha Furtado of Toronto was also arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Two counts of breach of firearms regulation
- Two counts careless storage of a firearm, weapon, and ammunition
- Two counts of tampering with a firearms serial number
Both the accused were held in custody and are pending a bail hearing.
