More than 40,000 people visited the Milton GO Station for last year’s Halal Food Tour and organizers are hoping for even more at this year’s three-day event.

Night Market Toronto (NMTO) is making a stop this weekend in Milton, the second of six consecutive weekends they’ll offer halal food options in the GTA.

The event, which will only serve hand-slaughtered halal meat and poultry from Meatheads, was designed to give the Muslim community a food-centric experience that comes with peace of mind. The festival will also be pork and alcohol-free.

This weekend the festival will be open:

  • Friday, May 19, 4 p.m. to midnight
  • Saturday, May 20th, 2 p.m. to midnight
  • Sunday, May 21st, 2 to 10 p.m.

“Receiving international recognition for their halal tour last year, NMTO is only planning to create a bigger impact within the community with more vendors, rides, and new programs for everyone to enjoy,” said an NMTO spokesperson.

In addition to plenty of food options, there will also be live entertainment.
