Downtown milton christmas holiday season

‘Tis the season to start preparing for Hallmark Christmas movie marathons by catching a glimpse of a film that’s reportedly being shot in Milton.

According to a recent post on the Milton Talk Facebook page, a Hallmark Christmas movie will be shot in the town’s downtown core this month.

The post, which shares a filming notice that was reportedly distributed to local businesses, says filming will take place in a number of locations, including on parts of Main Street.

Main Street will not be closed for the shoot, but the post says that residents can expect “intermittent traffic stoppages” that will not occur between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. or 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., meaning rush hour traffic shouldn’t be out of the ordinary.

“The small parking lot between Knox Church and Chudleigh Blossom Café is going to be closed and dressed as a Christmas Market,” the post says, adding that the vehicles associated with the production will be parked at the Milton Fairgrounds and the town-owned lot opposite the town hall.

While the name of the movie has not yet been confirmed, Facebook users say the film could be A Not So Royal Christmas.

According to TheCinamaholic, a movie by the same name is also being filmed in nearby Hamilton. The article says the made-for-TV movie is about a gossip columnist who pretends to be a more experienced journalist in order to get close to Count Lars, a monarch who likes to keep a low profile.

The post says prep work for the filming will take place on Oct. 4 and 5 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Filming will take place on Oct. 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13.

Locations slated for filming include Main Street between Martin Street and James Street and 174 Main St. E.
