Message from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society:

Esme is the queen bee of her world and she is going to want her forever home to see that too. This sweet girl has a sparkly, playful and fun personality. She was surrendered to the shelter when her previous home was not able to care for her.

Esme is a mature girl and has all the manners and housetraining to prove it. This girl is used to living in a single-dwelling home and is not a fan of apartments or condos. Her ideal home would have a fully fenced back yard that she can enjoy. If you can add in a small dog pool for her to splash in, she would be ecstatic.

Esme loves to play and go on walks. Don’t let her age fool you as this girl may be laidback but is not sedate by any means. She loves going on walks and playing in the small pool at the shelter. Long hikes wouldn’t be ideal for her though as she can get sore after doing too much and limp the following day.

Esme loves to play tug and fetch in our yard at the shelter and would definitely benefit from an enclosed outdoor space at her forever home as she is not suitable to attend the dog park. Esme does have a high prey drive and therefore should not be exposed to cats, small animals or small dogs. However, she could have dog friends of similar size and playstyle to her.

Esme is searching for a home without other pets due to her high prey drive and not liking to share all her things with another dog. Esme would be suitable to live in an adult-only household due to her not always be comfortable with handling. While Esme loves attention, she wants it on her terms.

If you think Esme is the dog for you, please submit a Dog Adoption Survey to the Adoptions department.

You may submit your completed adoption survey by placing it in our drop dox to the left of the shelter doors, by emailing it to [email protected], or by faxing it to 905-845-1973. The adoption survey must be submitted for a particular animal.
