Harvey’s offers $1.65 burgers to celebrate 65th anniversary in Canada

Popular fast food chain Harvey’s is celebrating 65 years with $1.65 burgers and a fun scavenger hunt.
Harvey’s was founded in 1959 by Montrealer Richard Mauran whose vision was a made-to-order, charcoal-broiled hamburger, according to a press release from Harvey’s.
This year, Harvey’s is celebrating 65 years of customized burgers.
Starting on April 1 (no joke!), the restaurant will offer one original or veggie burger, through the Harvey’s app, for $1.65 while supplies last. The campaign ends on April 7.
The chain is also launching the Harvey’s Burger Hunt starting today (March 26).
The burger brand will hide 1,650 free burger cards near Harvey’s locations and iconic landmarks across Canada, including four VIP Cards that will give the lucky winners free “Harvey’s for a year.”

Harvey’s founder Mauran opened the first restaurant at 9741 Yonge St. in Richmond Hill, according to the book Toronto Sketches. He decided to call the restaurant Harvey’s after he bought the old sign from a closing Toronto used car dealership called Harvey’s Used Cars.
The original Harvey’s restaurant was demolished in 2012 to make way for condos.
