A Milton woman is the Ontario’s latest millionaire after winning a Lotto 6/49 prize in the Gold Ball Draw on Jan. 10.

Linnea Cain of Campbellville, who works in sales, has been playing the lottery since she turned 18.

“I play regular numbers on Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49,” she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings.

“I kept telling my husband I’m going to win $1 million.”

She checked her ticket on the OLG app when she found out she was a big winner.

“I didn’t have my glasses on so I took a screenshot and zoomed in on the zeroes. I gasped,” she said. “I passed my husband the phone and he said, ‘It’s $1 million!’ He came over to me and gave me a hug and a high five.”

Cain plans to share her win with family, have some fun while creating memories and save some for the future.

“This win is a humbling experience and a huge blessing. I’m so grateful for this and what it means for my family.”

Lotto 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.

The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Main St. in Campbellville.
