Horse injured after trailer flips in a 2-vehicle crash in Ontario

A horse sustained minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Ontario.

Emergency crews responded to the crash at 7th Line and 15th Side Road in the Town of New Tecumseth around 10:15 a.m. today (May 6), OPP said.

New Tecumseth is a community south of Barrie.

The two-vehicle collision resulted in an overturned horse trailer, containing a 21-year-old horse named Donte, police said.

With the assistance of New Tecumseth Fire, Simcoe County Paramedics, Two Tack Emergency Medical Services and a local veterinarian, the horse was removed from the trailer safely with minor injuries.

Donte sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The drivers of the motor vehicles remained on scene. They sustained minor injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time, and the roadway been reopened.
