The Ministry of National Defence announced it will be bringing jobs to Milton in the form of production on the new Armoured Combat Support Vehicles (ACSV).

While production on the ACSVs has already begun in London, it was announced Milton-based Parker Division Canada has been awarded a subcontract for this procurement.

These vehicles will come in eight variants, which will provide services such as ambulance, vehicle recovery, engineering, mobile repair, electronic warfare, troop-carrying, and command post.

“These vehicles will form the backbone of the Army’s combat support fleet, and be used on a wide range of operations including domestic disaster relief, and international peace support missions,” Adam van Koeverden, MP for Milton, said in a news release.

“Thanks to the flexibility found in our defence policy, Strong, Secure, Engage, work on the vehicles has started years earlier,” he continued.
