Massive blizzard forces Halton Region to cancel waste collection in Burlington, Oakville, Milton

The Region of Halton is calling a stop to all waste collection in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills due to today’s blizzard.
According to a tweet from the official Halton Region account, all garbage and recycling collection is cancelled today and will resume tomorrow.
Everyone’s garbage day is being pushed back one day.

In addition, during the winter, the region is reminding residents to to:
- Ensure your Blue Box, Green Cart and garbage materials are visible to collection crews.
- Do not place your Green Cart, Blue Box or garbage on top of snow banks. This prevents bins from getting stuck or frozen.
- Place your Green Cart, Blue Box or garbage bins back from the road to allow snowplows to clear the streets.
