Milton Public Library has several events coming up over the next few weeks for both kids and adults.

The Local Author Fair on Saturday, Sept. 23, is part of the Culture Days celebration going on across the region. Local authors, including writers of fiction, non-fiction and self-published, will be in the Teal Room of the Main library branch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information visit here.

The library’s annual short story contest for students in Grades 6-12 will accept entries from Sept. 22 to Oct. 15. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups, Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12. Stories should be a maximum of 1,500 words. For full contest rules, and how to enter, visit here.

The Local Student Art Display is also part of Culture Days. Students can apply until Oct. 7 and all types of visual art (drawing, painting, sculpture, fabric art, ceramics, photography, etc.) will be accepted, as long as it’s suitable for an all-ages display. For information, visit here.

The Mad Hatters Tea Party is being held for children ages 8 to 12. This Culture Days program will allow kids to drink tea and have snacks in Wonderland. Meet the Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter, pin the smile on the Cheshire Cat while the story of Alice in Wonderland is explored. Participants will create their very own themed headband to take home.
