New dessert store that makes gelato fresh daily now open in Milton

A fancy new dessert shop opened its doors today in Milton.
Nani’s Gelato, already with three locations in the GTA, has opened its newest store at 9010 Louis St. Laurent Ave., in the plaza on the southeast corner of Thompson Rd.
Nani’s Gelato offers a variety of frozen artisanal desserts and catering services. And unlike many other ice cream or gelato stores, all products are made on site, from scratch, daily.
“In a number of South Asian languages, the word ‘Nani’ means grandmother,” reads the store’s website.
“In every batch of gelato that we produce, we infuse the love and passion of our mothers and grandmothers. An unprecedented way of cooking, our founder’s inspiration for Nani’s Gelato comes from how his mother and grandmother produced meals daily from fresh ingredients. We never compromise on the quality of our gelato and handcraft every batch in-house daily. Our flavors are Asian, Indian and Italian influenced and we ensure every batch we produce has a Nani’s touch.”
Because batches are made daily, Nani’s Gelato changes flavours often. What’s available today may not be there tomorrow or next week.
The flavours listed on Nani’s Gelato Instagram page for this week include mango banana sorbet, vegan cereal milk, tiramisu, spice parle G, Belgian cookie, salted dark chocolate and pistachio cannoli.
Keeping dietary needs in mind, Nani’s Gelato lets customers know which of their concoctions are vegan, or whether they contain gluten, nuts or eggs.

While the weather is still cold, until the end of March, Nani’s Gelato is open Monday to Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
