Stone fruit season is upon us, meaning that Niagara-on-the-Lake’s annual Peach Festival is right around the corner.

The Peach Festival, slated to take place on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 am until 6 pm on Queen St. in NOTL’s downtown core, will feature live music and sweet and savoury foods made with–you guessed it–locally-grown peaches.

The festival is organized by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara.

According to the event’s website, bands scheduled to perform include the Fife & Drum Band, The Steel Band, The Toronto All-Star Big Band and Soul Jam.

As far as food goes, vendors set to appear at the festival include Budapest Bakeshop, Greaves, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, The Irish Harp Pub, Cheese Secrets, Craig’s Cookies, Hatley, Neob Lavender, Oast House, Exchange Brewery, Wine Country Vintners and more.

“Immerse yourself in a gastronomic paradise with our diverse array of merchant and food vendors. Indulge in a tantalizing selection of sweet and savoury culinary delights, all ingeniously infused with luscious, homegrown peaches from Niagara-on-the-Lake,” organizers wrote on the event’s official Facebook page.

The website also says the event will feature its traditional peach pie contest. The festival happens the same weekend as the Shades of Rosé Dinner, an outdoor event that’s also set to take place on part of Queen St. on Aug. 13.

The website also encourages attendees to check out other NOTL attractions, including the Shaw Festival Theatre, Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and Heritage District.
