“Noxious” Pepper spray used in Oshawa movie theatre

With an unclear motive, two men – one armed with a large knife – walked into a movie theatre in Oshawa’s north end late Sunday night and sprayed the room with a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

Both suspects then fled the scene before police arrived.

The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cineplex theatre complex at Grandview Rd. N and Taunton Road.

Movie patrons inside the theatre sustained minor irritation from the spray.

  • The first suspect is described as white, about 5’9” and 160 pounds and wearing a black toque, black mask and a gray jogging sweat suit.
  • The second suspect is white, about 5’6” and 150 pounds and wearing a gray toque, black mask and black jogging sweat suit.
