Oakville hockey team hosting annual Teddy Bear Toss Saturday

The Oakville Blades are hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss game at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Saturday night.
Teddy bear tosses have becoming quite popular among hockey teams and fans and Oakville is no different. Fans attending the Junior A game Saturday against arch-rivals Burlington Cougars are encouraged to bring a teddy bear, or buy one at the arena, and throw it on the ice when the Blades score their first goal.
If teddy bears aren’t your thing, Oakville firefighters will also be on hand at the arena, collecting new, unwrapped toys and gift certificates to hand out to less fortunate families in the area.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
