A popular bakery will soon be opening its doors in Oakville, only a few hundred metres from the Burlington border.

COBS Bread, one of the fastest-growing chains in the country, will be setting up shop in the Burloak Marketplace Plaza, located at Burloak Road and Rebecca Street.

Renowned for both the variety and freshness of its baked goods, this will be the sixth COBS Bread outlet in south Halton.

The offerings at COBS Bread, baked fresh daily on-site, run the gamut from sweet to savoury, from everyday staples to more exotic fare.

Among the traditional favourites are hot cross buns, which come in a variety of flavours. Gourmet hot dog and hamburger buns are best-sellers, as are cinnamon buns, cape seed loaf, and sunflower flax sourdough loaf.

Other items available include bagels, traditional and flavoured hot dog and hamburger buns, baguettes, ciabatta buns, croissants and many types of loaves.

On the sweet side, you can grab scones and danishes in a wide variety of flavours, as well as the Canadian staple, butter tarts.

Patrons can also join COBS club to get special offers and tasty rewards when they shop at COBS Bread.

No specific opening date is available, but it shouldn’t be long.
