Halton Regional Police are investigating after a pair of Oakville homes were broken into through the front door during the day on Wednesday (May 3).

In one burglary, a detached home on Rayne Ave. was broken into between 12:50 and 1:20 p.m.

There was no one home at the time of the break-in.

“Suspects forced the locked front door to gain entry,” Halton Police Cst. Ryan Anderson told inhalton.com.

Jewellery, police say, was stolen from the home.

No arrests have been made and no descriptions of the suspects are available.

Another break-in occurred on the same day at on Lumberman Line.

Police say between 10:45 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. suspects forced the locked front door to gain entry.

“(The) suspect may have kicked in the front door,” said Cst. Anderson.

It remains unconfirmed what, exactly, was taken from the home during the break-in.

Police say no residents were home at the time of the break-in.

No arrests or suspect descriptions were provided.
