Popular Filipino bakery opens new location in Mississauga

A popular Filipino bakery has opened a second location in Mississauga.
After operating a pop-up shop for several months, The Purple Bakeshop has just opened at Erin Mills Town Centre at 5100 Erin Mills Parkway.
The shop is located on the upper level in the mall.
The Filipino bakery started out at 780 Burnhamthorpe Rd. and also opened a pop-up shop in the Food District at Square One last year.
Known for their eye-catching purple desserts, the bakery has a variety of pies, cakes, pastries, ube (purple yam) desserts and halo halo (a Filipino cold dessert containing crushed ice, evaporated milk, ube and other items).
They offer some traditional Filipino sweets such as kakanin — sweets made of glutinous rice and coconut milk.

There is also a selection of savoury empanadas.
And the Erin Mills location offers cold and hot drinks.
