Potentially thousands of customers are without power in Halton Hills this afternoon (Feb. 28).

Halton Hills Hydro reports that two communities are currently affected including most of Acton and the western part of Georgetown.

It has not been determined what has caused the outages but high winds that have led to downed power lines have been reported across Southern Ontario today.

There is no estimated time on when the power will be restored.

Halton Hills Hydro crews were kept busy today clearing fallen branches away from lines. An earlier outage just to the north of Glen Williams has been dealt with and power restored.
