Road Closure In Oakville Causing Heavy Delays

Great Lakes is closed in both directions in Oakville.
It is closed from Rebecca to Michigan Drive (Burloak Drive).
Great Lakes is closed in both directions in Oakville.
It is closed from Rebecca to Michigan Drive (Burloak Drive).
This is because the fibre optic wires and traffic lights in the area have fallen onto the roadway.
There is severe traffic delays in the area.
Oakville’s fire department, hydro and police are on scene.

UPDATE:
A truck has struck a pole, which has caused a number of other poles and wires to fall onto the road.
Police have closed the area in the interest of public safety.
Barricades have been placed. The reopening time is unknown as of yet.
Traffic heading to Burlington should use Lakeshore, Harvester or the QEW to Appleby Line.
Drivers heading towards West Oakville, should exit the QEW at Bronte Road and go to Lakeshore.
There is no access at all to Great Lakes from Michigan Drive to Rebecca Street.
The road is estimated to reopen in 2 to 3 hours. Crews are at work to remove debris and fix the traffic signal lights.
