Sexual assault, secretly recording and sharing intimate images among five charges for Whitby man

A Whitby man accused of secretly recorded intimate images and sexual assault on an underage victim while she was asleep and then sharing those photos online is in custody and faces five sexual exploitation charges, including sexual assault and possession of child pornography.
Sajan Dhonsi, 21, is alleged to have also shared historic images of the victim without her consent. Images of others who were underage were also posted on social media without their consent.
The incidents happened between Monday, October 2, and Tuesday, October 3, 2023 and members of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of Central West Division frontline officers and the E-Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at the man’s residence Thursday.
Dhonsi was taken into custody without incident. Numerous electronics were seized from the residence. He is charged with sexual assault, secretly observe/record person for sexual purpose, two counts of publish intimate images without consent and possess child pornography.
He was held for a bail hearing.
