An Oakville man was left just about speechless after realizing he had won $100,000 in the lottery.

Velmurugu (Sun) Suntharalingam called his family after discovering he had matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the April 12 Lotto Max draw.

He barely knew what to say when sharing the good news and inviting them to meet him at the Circle K on Speers Rd. where he purchased the ticket.

“I was so happy and excited to see a big win,” said Velmurugu. “Having my family around me made it even better.”

The retiree says he always says “yes” to Encore and it paid off for him big time.

“I stopped for gas and decided to check my ticket,” he said while collecting his winnings at the OLG Price Centre in Toronto. “I used the self-scanner and didn’t believe it when I saw ‘Big Winner.’

“I gave my ticket to the store clerk and when the lottery terminal shut down, I realized it was true – I actually won.”

Velmurugu says he wants to share the winnings with his children and plans to go on a trip to visit his sisters and brother.
