Police have identified the suspect and victim of a recent homicide in Oakville.
Police have identified the suspect and victim of a recent homicide in Oakville.
At 8:11 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, police received a call regarding an altercation between two males at a residence on Marine Drive.
Officers located a 74 year old man with obvious trauma, who has since been pronounced dead.
He is identified as Oakville resident Robert Smith.

Shortly after, police arrested 40 year old Brett Smith, the victim’s son. He has been charged with second degree murder and will make a court appearance in Milton on Monday, August 26.
The Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate this incident.
