Teams are booked as Oakville set to host 2024 Centennial Cup

The field of 10 is all set for the Centennial Cup in Oakville.

The Miramichi Timberwolves became the final team to book their spot into the Canadian junior A championships set to run May 9 to 19 at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex

The Timberwolves rallied in the third period on Thursday night (May 2) to defeat P.E.I’s Western Capitals 5-4 and clinch the Maritime Hockey League title.

Hosted by the Oakville Blades, the junior hockey championship features the nine champions from the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

The teams will be divided into two groups who will then play four preliminary games before advancing to the quarterfinals (May 17), semifinals (May 18) and then the championship final on May 19.

The host Blades will play in a Group B with the Winkler Flyers (Manitoba Junior Hockey League), Melfort Mustangs (Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League), Calgary Canucks (Alberta Junior Hockey League) and the Sioux Lookout Bombers (Superior International Junior Hockey League).

Group A will include the Collingwood Blues (Ontario Junior Hockey League), Greater Sudbury Cubs (Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League), Navan Grads (Central Canada Hockey League), College Francais de Longueuil (Quebec Junior Hockey League) and the Miramichi Timberwolves (Maritimes Hockey League).
