This Massive Kids Store is Closing its Doors

It’s a sad day for kids, parents, and those who are young at heart.

A massive kids store will be no more.

Gymboree - a children’s apparel retailer - according to a recent Retail Insider article, has announced that it will be closing most of its doors after filing for bankruptcy for the second time in two years.

Gymboree was originally established in 1976.

Now, all 49 stores in Canada will be closing.

Gymboree confirms that it will close all of its Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores while at the same time attempting to sell its more upscale Janie and Jackchain of stores, as well as related intellectual property and e-commerce operations,” the Retail Insider article notes.

This is a heartbreaking outcome for our many dedicated employees and our treasured customers with whom we have built many strong relationships over the past four decades,” the message from the Gymboree CEO, Shaz Kahng, reads.

While our Gymboree, Gymboree Outlet and Crazy 8 stores and websites will be closing soon, we will remain focused on ensuring we continue to deliver the exceptional service you have come to expect from us.”

This closing is following the suits of a few other massive stores that have announced Canadian closings recently. Some of these other stores include Town Shoes and Jean Machine.
