Three Suspects Arrested in Burlington in Relation to Stolen Property

 

Halton Police have arrested three suspects in relation to stolen property. 

On Feb. 17, 2019, in Burlington, Halton Police initiated a traffic stop of a U-Haul truck in the area of Guelph Line and Fairview Street.

Police say the truck originally stopped but drove away as officers approached the vehicle on foot.  

Police followed the vehicle as it made attempts to dodge police.

Eventually, the vehicle was tracked to the area of North Shore Boulevard and Indian Road where it came to rest in a snow bank. 

Three people were taken into police custody at the location without further incident. 

According to police, inside the vehicle there was a quantity of stolen property, break in instruments, and fraudulent documents. 

As a result of this arrest and investigation, the following individuals have been charged with the following alleged offences.

Genaro Mallare (51), of Toronto: 

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of stolen credit card
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Fail to comply with probation 
  • Fail to comply with recognizance of bail

John Berang (27), of Toronto:  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of stolen credit card
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Fail to comply with recognizance of bail
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle

Lisa Cadwell (44), of Toronto:  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of stolen credit card
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Obstruct police officer
