Town council to discuss proposed place of worship in Milton
A new place of worship has been proposed in the Town of Milton and council is set to discuss the application at an upcoming meeting.
The place of worship is being proposed at 1456 Bronte St. S. on the west side of Bronte Street South, north of the future extension of Etheridge Avenue.
The subject lands are approximately 0.38 hectares in area, with a frontage of 45.72 metres and a depth of approximately 85 metres. Currently, they are occupied by a single detached dwelling, which on occasion, is used as a gathering space, place of worship and an accessory building.
The proposed building would be rectangular in shape, and, with the exception of a two-storey section located at the front and middle of the building, it would be one-storey in height.
In terms of access to the development, it is being proposed from Bronte Street South via a right in/right out private driveway.
Parking is proposed at the back of the building with a total of 70 parking spaces. This includes one accessible space and five spaces for small vehicles.
The application is seeking amendments to the Town’s zoning bylaw in order to facilitate the development of a place of worship with a prayer hall, multi-purpose community hall, library and other ancillary uses.
As a result, it has been undergoing technical review by both the Town of Milton and agencies.
The application will be up for discussion at an upcoming council meeting on Nov. 15, where residents will also have a chance to provide their input on the proposed place of worship.
