Team Stamkos at the OHL Combine in Oshawa

OHL scouts and general managers had a front-row seat at the Tribute Centre in Oshawa this weekend for the 2024 OHL Development Combine, the final opportunity for midget-aged players to showcase their talents prior to the OHL Priority Selection draft this Friday and Saturday.

Seventy-six U16 draft eligible prospects – including Tanner Nettleton of the Oshawa Generals and Reggie Taylor of the Whitby Wildcats – got a chance to show off their on-ice skills Sunday in a series of mini-games played before scouts and general managers, and their off-ice skills in a series of tests Saturday.

Team Stamkos players were the top performers in the combine with a grand total of 668 points.

Team Subban came out on top in Sunday’s game action, skating to victories over Team Ekblad and Team Lindros to ultimately finish third place with 560 points.
