A trucking depot that has been operating outside of the law in Halton Hills has been slapped with a temporary injunction.

The town has been successful in getting the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario to issue the injunction that looks to stop the depot from operating at the site.

The town has long argued that the terminal, located on Hornby Road and Steeles Avenue, has been operating without approvals to conduct business and build on the site.

Specifically, the injunction calls for all transport trucks and construction vehicles to be removed from the site, to stop trucks from entering the site, and to prevent the operators from using the site to conduct business.

The operators have also been ordered to pay $15,000 to the Town of Halton Hills in legal fees.

“I am very pleased with the court’s decision. It reaffirms our commitment to upholding justice and the rule of law in our community,” said acting Mayor Jason Brass. ”

The town has been after the trucking firm since 2021 which it claims has been operating without permits and has been ignoring orders to cease operations.

The property previously served as a farm before the terminal was established.
