A vibrant injection of culture has returned to the Burlington waterfront.

Featuring the works of more than 30 artists, the Burlington Waterfront Sculpture Trail brings sculpture into the public realm along the accessible walking route in an exhibition meant to challenge, entertain and provoke thought from its audience as well as to showcase the talents of those who create.

This is the third year for the exhibition that continues through June 1.

Sponsored by the Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection, the goal is to allow the public the opportunity to view the art in an outdoor setting as well as to promote the artists and have their work seen by a broad audience.

“The Burlington Waterfront Sculpture Trail is a project that encourages local artists and gives them an opportunity to put their works out into the public in an environment that otherwise they wouldn’t be able to do,” explains Lawrie.

As part of the program, Lawrie and his team work to sell the pieces to drive additional support for the artists.

Along the 1 km path, each work also contains a sign that provides background on the artist as well as their intentions for their art.

The art will be on display through June 2.

Guides are available digitally by following this link.

An opening party and trail walk take place on April 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Guests will be treated to opening remarks at the Art Gallery of Burlington, a private tour of a portion of the collection with participating artists, live music and delicious food and drinks.
