A well-known restaurant in Milton is closing after a dozen years of operation.

The owners of the Rad Brothers Sports Bar and Tap House announced last night on social media that they’ve decided to close their doors for good at the end of the month.

“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the closure of The Rad Brothers after 12 incredible years of serving this amazing community,” said a post signed by Roger, Patrick, Janet and Mama Rad.

They talked about how the landscape of the restaurant industry has undergone significant changes, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The challenges brought forth by these unprecedented times have reshaped the way we operate, making it increasingly difficult to navigate the evolving demands of the industry. The rising costs of goods, coupled with shifts in the economy and the cost of living, have further added to the complexities we face.”

They said, as a group, they realized that, despite their unwavering passion and dedication, “the drive needed to run a restaurant in today’s world has become an uphill battle. We’ve always taken pride in adapting to change, but sometimes, knowing when to let go is a part of that journey.”

Rad Brothers is located on the corner of Derry Rd. and Regional Road 25 and was known for their traditional pub grub like burgers, ribs and pasta as well as a large selection of on-tap beer.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude to our cherished customers for being a part of our Rad Brothers family. Over the years, we’ve shared countless memorable nights, created new friendships, and become an indelible part of each other’s lives. Your support has been the heartbeat of our establishment, and we are honoured to have been a part of your cherished memories.”
