Road Closures to Take Note of During Walk Off The Earth Memorial in Burlington

A memorial tribute will be happening in Burlington to honour the late “Walk off the Earth” band member Mike Taylor, who recently passed away.

A memorial tribute will be happening in Burlington to honour the late “Walk off the Earth” band member Mike Taylor, who recently passed away.

The tribute will take place on Jan. 13 (this Sunday) at the Civic Square in downtown Burlington, the group’s hometown, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

If you plan on attending this event, or if you will be in the area, there are some road closures you should take note of.

The following road closures will be in place from Sunday, Jan. 13 from 3 a.m. to Monday, Jan. 14 at midnight:

  • Brant Street from Ontario Street to Pine Street
  • James Street from John Street to Brant Street
  • Elgin Street from Brant Street to Locust Street
  • Ontario Street from Brant Street to Locust Street

The following parking restrictions will be in place from Sunday, Jan. 13 from 3 a.m. to Monday, Jan. 14 at midnight.

  • Brant Street Parking Lot #5 will be closed
  • Please remember to obey all parking bylaws
  • Cars parked on private property may be tagged and towed at the owner’s expense

Vehicles that are parked illegally in the area will be tagged or towed.

The city is encouraging concert-goers to take Burlington Transit to the event.
