In December of last year, Burlington’s Walk Off the Earth announced that one of their band members, Mike Taylor, known to fans as the ‘Beard Guy’, had passed away.

The band reported that Taylor passed away from natural causes.

On Jan. 13, 2019, a tribute concert was held in Burlington to honour the late band member.

The tribute concert took place at the Civic Square in downtown Burlington, the hometown of Walk Off The Earth.

At this tribute, Taylor was also honoured by the city by being the first recipient of ‘Key to the City’ – this is a program that will honour people and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Burlington community.

Now, the band has released a tribute song honouring Taylor.

Walk Off the Earth recently took to their Twitter page to announce the release of the song ‘Mike’s Song’.

“The loss of a friend can be an incredibly sad and confusing time…writing this song in tribute to Beard Guy was such a therapeutic process for us,” reads the Twitter post. “It made us realize how thankful we are for the moments we had together.”
